چکیده
The growth of entomopathogenic fungi Lecanicillium lecanii is strongly related to the media in increasing sporulation, enhancing its effectiveness infecting target pests. This study aims obtain L. propagation with highest conidia production, and increased virulence on Cylas formicarius . first stage alternative selection consists of: Potato Dextrose Agar; maize, rice; bran. second infectivity best 5 treatments replications: synthetic insecticide (C + ); distilled water (C-); 10 7 conidia/ml; 8 9 conidia/ml. results show that colony rate (1.15 mm) Maize media, density (4.2 x 10⁸ conidia/ml) not significantly different from PDA (1.3 conidia/ml). germination (74.31%) weight (1.10 g) Rice maize (1.45 g). L.lecanii affect mortality C. (74%) substantially at a concentration LC 50 value obtained 2.6 10⁷ Thus, can be an medium for mass

Transcriptome Analysis and Systemic RNAi Response in the African Sweetpotato Weevil (Cylas puncticollis, Coleoptera, Brentidae)
The African sweetpotato weevil (SPW) Cylas puncticollis Boheman is one of the most important constraints of sweetpotato production in Sub-Saharan Africa and yet is largely an uncharacterized insect pest. Here, we report on the transcriptome analysis of SPW generated using an Illumina platform. More than 213 million sequencing reads were obtained and assembled into 89,599 contigs. This assembly ...
متن کاملUnshared binding sites for Bacillus thuringiensis Cry3Aa and Cry3Ca proteins in the weevil Cylas puncticollis (Brentidae)
Bacillus thuringiensis Cry3Aa and Cry3Ca proteins have been reported to be toxic against the African sweetpotato pest Cylas puncticollis. In the present work, the binding sites of these proteins in C. puncticollis brush border vesicles suggest the occurrence of different binding sites, but only one of them is shared. Our results suggest that pest resistance mediated by alteration of the shared ...
متن کاملProduction of extracellular enzymes in the entomopathogenic fungus Verticillium lecanii
This study investigates the mechanisms as well as strategies for purification and characterization of potential enzymes involved in pathogenesis of entomopathogenic fungi. The test strain of Verticillium lecanii that was screened, during the present investigation, proved to be an efficient producer of protein and polysaccharide degrading enzymes (amylase, protease, and lipase), hence indicating...

Densities of 10, 20, and 30 hard red winter wheat kernels, Triticum aestivum L., were infested with different life stages of the rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.), mixed with 35 g of wheat treated with 300 ppm of the Protect-It (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) formulation of diatomaceous earth (DE), and held at 22, 27, and 32 degrees C. A similar test was conducted by exposing densities of 6, 1...
متن کاملProduction of Aerial Conidia of Lecanicillium lecanii 41185 by Solid-State Fermentation for Use as a Mycoinsecticide
The production of aerial conidia of Lecanicillium lecanii 41185, a highly virulent fungus, by solid-state fermentation was studied for use as a biocontrol agent against aphids. Among several agro-industrial solid media, steamed polished rice was found to produce the highest amount of aerial conidia. The optimal conditions for aerial conidia production were determined to be a 28.5% moisture cont...
