Management of Class II Division 1 Subdivision malocclusion using unilateral bicuspid extractions and fixed functional appliance: A Two Year Follow-Up

Introduction: Management of Class II Subdivision cases pose a clinical dilemma and require careful diagnosis to ascertain the source asymmetry. Various treatment modalities involving: different protocols tooth extractions; molar distalization; fixed functional appliances or orthognathic surgery have been proposed for same.
 Objective: This article reports unique approach management severe skeletal with Angle’s Division 1 subdivision malocclusion using unilateral bicuspid extractions in mandibular maxillary arches appliance.
 Results: A 13 year month old male CVMI transition stage was successfully treated. Extraction #44 done alleviate crowding anterior region #15 extracted protract #16 achieve relationship. pre-functional canine relationship co-incident midlines achieved. The phase consisted appliance (Forsus FRD) advancement correct II. I relationships were achieved reduction facial convexity overjet. Result remained stable 24 months after treatment. improvement can be quantified by scores orthodontic indices measured pre post treatment.
 Conclusions: requires planning. paper presents utilizing address discrepancy dilemma.
