Mapping of gold mineralization using an integrated interpretation of geological and geophysical data—a case study from West Baranes, South Eastern Desert, Egypt

Abstract The current study is mainly devoted to the integration, analysis, and interpretation of available geologic, remote sensing, potential field data (mainly magnetic) delineate subsurface geologic structural elements controlling western part Baranes, South Eastern Desert, Egypt, its relation southwestern desert regime. Additionally, detect mineralization zones for future mining plans in area. Western Baranes has not had enough geomorphological mapping, consequently, discoveries are very low. So, this paper, an attempt initiated better understand evolution geomorphology regime region construct a digital geological map patterns showing possible locations based on previous knowledge from similar sites focus economic importance region. To achieve purpose, processed Landsat-8 images successfully revealed lithological contacts fault helping distinguishing between different rock units; moreover, aeromagnetic area used several filters applied including reduction pole, Euler homogeneity equation, analytic Signal (AS), advanced grid filtering sequentially aiming distribution integrated magnetic susceptibilities sensing data.
