چکیده
Introduction: Matrix calculi are infrequently encountered in the urinary tract. Their biochemical composition and unusual radiological appearance make it difficult to differentiate them from fungal balls or tumours of Aim: To study radiological, microbiological characteristics matrix tract their management. Materials Methods: This prospective observational cohort was conducted at a tertiary care hospital, July 2016 August 2019. Analysis clinical, profiles patients who were found have renal ureteric done. These underwent Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy (URSL) stone material evacuated sent for analysis. Data analysed using Microsoft Excel, version 2016. Results: stones total 21 patients, out which 15 six calculi. Mean age patient population 44.5 years. Male female ratio 1.33:1. Total 7 (33.3%) Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The mean radiodensity all 403 Hounsfield Unit (HU). Six also had concomitant crystalline calculus. Histopathological analysis these revealed an amorphous lamellated appearance. postoperative course uneventful. One presented with non opposite kidney after one year follow-up. Conclusion: usually radiolucent on plane radiographs low Computerised Tomography (CT) scan. Biochemical shows protein be predominant component. more often seen Diabetes Mellitus (DM) CKD frequently associated positive urine culture. They can managed successfully combination PCNL URSL. Complete clearance is necessary minimise recurrence.

Characteristics of Calculi in the Urinary Tract
INTRODUCTION Elimination of stone is determined by size and its localization. Stone from the ureter in 80% of cases can be eliminated spontaneously. If the stone by its characteristics is not spontaneously eliminated, taken are further steps and therapeutic protocols to solve this problem. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study was prospective, open and comparative. It was conducted at the Urology Cl...
متن کاملEvaluation of urinary tract calculi in children.
Renal stone disease remains a significant health problem in the adult population, with the incidence of urolithiasis estimated to be as high as 12%. The true incidence in childhood is not known, but a frequency of two children per million UK population per annum has been suggested. Understanding the factors involved in urinary stone formation and the appropriate investigations for a child prese...
