چکیده

ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate tooth movements during maxillary arch expansion with clear aligner treatment. Materials and Methods The study group included 28 subjects (16 females, 12 males, mean age 31.9 ± 5.4 years) collected prospectively from January 2018 to May 2019. Inclusion criteria were European ancestry, posterior transverse discrepancy of 3–6 mm, permanent dentition stage, presence second molars, mild or moderate crowding, good compliance aligners. Treatment protocol nonextraction strategies, application Invisalign system, no auxiliaries other than attachments. Linear angular measurements performed before treatment (T1), at the end (T2), on final virtual models (T2 ClinCheck). A paired t-test was used compare T2-T1 T2-T2 ClinCheck changes. level significance set 5%. Results Statistically significant differences found for all measurements, except ones upper molars. greatest increase in width detected first premolars: +3.5 mm premolar +3.8 T2. Comparison outcomes showed statistically changes inclinations teeth both linear canines, resulting poor predictability. Conclusions Maxillary development revealed a progressive reduction rate buccal tipping anterior, lateral, regions, net premolars. Clinical attention should be paid canine movements, overcorrection planned them dentoalveolar expansion.

Expansion of the lower arch concurrent with rapid maxillary expansion.

The effect of rapid maxillary expansion on the mandibular intercanine and intermolar widths during treatment and its stability after retention was studied. In addition, the relationships between the interarch change and the facial types and ages of the subjects of the sample were evaluated. The sample consisted of 17 cases for the study of intercanine width, and 22 nonextraction cases for the s...

Treatment of anterior open bite with the Invisalign system.

nvisalign* was initially developed to correct mild-to-moderate crowding, to close naturally occurring spaces, and to produce dental tipping. 1,2 After years of experience with the system, orthodontists have reported its successful use in more complex cases, such as those involving extractions, open bites, and Class II malocclusions. 3-7 This article describes two anterior open-bite patients who...

Self-ligating versus Invisalign: analysis of dento-alveolar effects.

AIM The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in the transverse dimension and the perimeter of the maxillary arch produced by low friction self-ligating brackets TIME 3 compared to the Invisalign technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS Both the self-ligating sample and the Invisalign group were composed of 20 subjects, evaluated at the beginning (T0) and at the completion of therapy (T1). Al...

Effects of Early and Late Cheiloplasty on Posterior Part of Maxillary Dental Arch Development in Infants

Cleft malformations belong to the most common facial congenital defects. This study compares the impact of early and late reconstruction of complete unilateral cleft lip and palate on the growth and development of the posterior part of dentoalveolar arch. Maxillary dental casts of 35 infants were used for analyses. They were divided into 2 groups according to the timing of the lip reconstructio...
