Mean-performance of sharp restart: II. Inequality roadmap

چکیده
Abstract Restarting a deterministic process always impedes its completion. However, it is known that restarting random can lead to an opposite outcome—expediting Hence, the effect of restart contingent on underlying statistical heterogeneity process’ completion times. To quantify this we introduce novel approach research: methodology inequality indices, which widely applied in economics and social sciences measure income wealth disparities. Utilizing establish ‘inequality roadmap’ for mean-performance sharp restart: whole new set universal criteria determine when with timers (i.e. fixed timers) impedes/expedites mean The are based key Lorenz-curve indices including Bonferroni, Gini, Pietra. From practical perspective, offer researchers highly useful tools tackle common real-world situation only partial information completion-time statistics available. theoretical yield—with unprecedented precision resolution—a powerful overarching take-home-message: low/high, respectively. As match any other protocol, results established here apply research at large.

متن کاملThe Sharp Energy-capacity Inequality
Using the Oh–Schwarz spectral invariants and some arguments of Frauenfelder, Ginzburg, and Schlenk, we show that the π1-sensitive Hofer– Zehnder capacity of any subset of a closed symplectic manifold is less than or equal to its displacement energy. This estimate is sharp, and implies some new extensions of the Non-Squeezing Theorem.
متن کاملGroupwise Registration with Sharp Mean
Groupwise registration has received more and more attention in the area of medical image analysis, due to its importance in analysis of population data. One popular way for groupwise registration is to alternatively estimate the group mean image and register all subject images to the estimated group mean. However, for achieving better registration performance, it is important to always keep the...
متن کاملA Sharp Inequality of Ostrowski-grüss Type
The main purpose of this paper is to use a Grüss type inequality for RiemannStieltjes integrals to obtain a sharp integral inequality of Ostrowski-Grüss type for functions whose first derivative are functions of Lipschitizian type and precisely characterize the functions for which equality holds.

From 1.1 and 1.2 we clearly see that both T a, b and C a, b are symmetric and homogenous of degree 1. Without loss of generality, we assume th...
