Measurement-based VLC channel characterization for I2V communications in a real urban scenario

Visible light communication (VLC) is nowadays envisaged as a promising technology to enable new classes of services in intelligent transportation systems ranging, e.g., from assisted driving autonomous vehicles. The assessment the performance VLC for automotive applications requires basic step model transmission pattern and propagation signal when real traffic-lights road scenarios are involved. In this paper an experimental measurement campaign has been carried out by using regular traffic-light source (red light) photoreceiver positioned, statically, at different distances heights along road. A linear regression technique used come up with models. proposed models have compared, terms accuracy complexity, conventional Lambertian describe channel urban scenario. provides significant higher comparable complexity.
