Measuring Dynamic Young’s Modulus of Low-Density Foam Concrete Using Resonant Frequency Test

چکیده
Foam concrete is a cellular material mainly used in construction. Because of the low-strength feature foam concrete, conventional testing methods such as strength measurement are insufficient to characterize key attributes especially for low-density that commonly designed functional purposes. Inspired by nondestructive resonant frequency test, this study investigates feasibility using method evaluate dynamic Young’s modulus at range. Three variables typically alter mechanical properties considered evaluating robustness approach—bulk density, water-to-cementitious ratio, and fly ash replacement ratio. The fundamental transverse found be most suitable determining modulus. experimental results demonstrate good accuracy approach measuring different samples. It also confirmed can accurately if bulk density solid its base cement paste known.

Dynamic behaviour of concrete containing aggregate resonant frequency
The need to design blast resistant civilian structures has arisen due to aggressor attacks on many civilian structures around the world. Achieving vibration and wave attenuation with locally resonant metamaterials has attracted a great deal of consideration due to their frequency dependent negative effective mass density. In this paper, metaconcrete, a new material with exceptional properties i...
متن کاملPerformance of Air Foam Flooding under Low Frequency Vibration
Foam injection is widely applied in amounts of fields to drilling, production, and formation protection. Sometimes, the application result is disappointing, which is caused by the failure of bubble generation in foam flooding. Therefore, it is necessary to seek ways for improving the performance of foam injection. An increased disturbance to the stratum, like the vibration caused by a seismic o...
متن کاملDetermination of effective mass density and modulus for resonant metamaterials.
This work presents a method to determine the effective dynamic properties of resonant metamaterials. The longitudinal vibration of a rod with periodically attached oscillators was predicted using wave propagation analysis. The effective mass density and modulus were determined from the transfer function of vibration responses. Predictions of these effective properties compared favorably with la...
متن کاملThe Pore Characteristics of Geopolymer Foam Concrete and Their Impact on the Compressive Strength and Modulus
The pore characteristics of geopolymer foam concretes (GFCs) manufactured in the laboratory with 0–16% foam additions were examined using image analysis (IA) and vacuum water saturation techniques. The pore size distribution, pore shape, and porosity were obtained. The IA method provides a suitable approach to obtain the information of large pores, which are more important in affecting the comp...
