چکیده
Self-healing systems represent an effective means of increasing the resilience cementitious structures, extending service life and reducing cement production. This is achieved through mitigation cracking related durability problems. The success a self-healing system critically dependent on selection appropriate healing agent, which depends upon specific application, as well number criteria including crack filling ability degree mechanical required. In present study, we develop modified formulations cyanoacrylate-based adhesive, suitable for use in vascular material. aim to ‘ideal’ agent that has extended shelf maximises load recovery. To this end, cyanoacrylates are tailored using combination predictive modelling physical testing. tests investigate both mechanical, flow chemical properties different formulations, tensile strength, viscosity curing. employs coupled chemo-mechanical model used guide testing programme prediction performance formulations. results investigation show formulation cyanoacrylate based increases recovery by 48% relative best performing original formulation. addition, it shown numerical able predict response new with good accuracy.

Designing Repeatable Self-Healing into Cementitious Materials
Designing self-healing into cementitious materials can open a new world of opportunities for resilient concrete infrastructure under service loading conditions. The self-healing process should be robust as well as repeatable, allowing for self-repair after multiple damage events. The repeatability poses great challenges when self-healing strategies mainly rely on the formation of low-strength c...
متن کاملSelf-Healing in Cementitious Materials—A Review
Concrete is very sensitive to crack formation. As wide cracks endanger the durability, repair may be required. However, these repair works raise the life-cycle cost of concrete as they are labor intensive and because the structure becomes in disuse during repair. In 1994, C. Dry was the first who proposed the intentional introduction of self-healing properties in concrete. In the following year...

This paper presents the results of a series of self-healing experiments conducted on reinforced mortar beams containing adhesive-filled glass reservoirs. An overview of the findings of the preliminary investigation stage of experiments is given in addition to the results of a parametric study which investigates the effect of the level of reinforcement and loading rate on the amount of self-heal...
متن کاملPressurized vascular systems for self-healing materials.
An emerging strategy for creating self-healing materials relies on embedded vascular networks of microchannels to transport reactive fluids to regions of damage. Here we investigate the use of active pumping for the pressurized delivery of a two-part healing system, allowing a small vascular system to deliver large volumes of healing agent. Different pumping strategies are explored to improve t...
