Mechanics Analysis of Rough Surface Based on Shoulder-Shoulder Contact

Proper methods and models for mechanical analysis of rough surface can improve the theory contact. When topography parameters two surfaces are similar, contact should be considered shoulder-shoulder rather than top-top. Based on fractal characteristics, geometric model asperity mechanics established, deformation asperity, real area load sealing discussed. The effects pressure p (fractal dimension D roughness G) variation porosity ratio Ar/A0 achieved. Results show that with increase p, larger smaller G corresponds to initial but faster decrease porosity; increment D, increases first then decreases, reduction; as becomes bigger, increases, difference change. With addition is closer linearity less at G; gradually, growth rate bigger p; declines, it declines more gently p. influence greater G. results provide theoretical basis design research or lubrication technologies surfaces.
