Medium density fiberboard (MDF) with efficient electromagnetic shielding: Preparation and evaluation

Carbon fiber (CF)-filled fiberboard specimens for electromagnetic (EM) shielding applications were produced in this study by mixing CF with wood (WF). The aim of work was to the panel properties different loadings (1%, 2%, 3%, 5%, and 10%) CF. mechanical, physical, interference (EMI) medium density (MDF) analyzed. effectiveness (SE) CF1 sample 23.5 dB 35.0 frequency range 8.2 GHz 12.4 GHz. maximum SE 64 76 obtained CF10 sample. investigation mechanical MDF indicated that modulus rupture (MOR), elasticity (MOE), internal bonding (IB) composite panels less than those control panel. MOR, MOE, IB, thickness swelling (TS), water absorption (WA) 1% (CF1) 24.7 MPa, 2,510 0.69 14.5%, 52.3% respectively. Generally, exhibited a greater ability EM because their acceptable according EN 622-5 (2019) standard appropriate at least 20 dB.
