Membrane-protected molecularly imprinted polymers: Towards selectivity improvement of liquid-phase microextraction

نویسندگان

چکیده

Sample preparation is still considered the bottle-neck of whole analytical process. Nowadays, several sample techniques are available, however all them suffer from lack selectivity. At this regard, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) excellent materials able to perform selective extractions. Recently, new objectives in have been set, including use smaller initial sizes; facilitate automation; and, minimize amount glassware and organic solvents needed. MIP incorporation other microextraction offers a strategy order fulfil current requirements. However, even using MIPs, complexity can affect recoveries target analytes, negatively affecting method precision accuracy. The porous membrane, as protective sleeve, one simplest approaches circumvent difficulties mentioned above analysis complex “dirty” samples. Accordingly, present paper pretends provide an overview micro-extraction developed during last years based on membrane-protected MIPs how such open pathways development liquid phase methods with improved characteristics. Advantages, drawbacks future expected trends also critically assessed.

Computational Design of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

Artificial receptors have been in use for several decades as sensor elements, in affinity separation, and as models for investigation of molecular recognition . Although there have been numerous publications on the use of molecular modeling in characterization of their affinity and selectivity, very few attempts have been made on the application of molecular modeling in computational design of ...

The Application of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

Molecularly imprinted technology (MIT) has the characteristics of specificity and high selectivity, which is one of the most promising methodologies. Besides, the polymers are made using MIT as the functional material of solid-phase extraction and chromatographic fractionating and sensor, because of the characteristics of the high selectivity, the better stability and easy preparation. This rev...

Citrinin selective molecularly imprinted polymers for SPE.

Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) for citrinin (Cit) with 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid (HNA) as mimic template were prepared and the molecularly imprinted SPE method was developed for the detection of Cit in rice with HPLC. The adsorption properties of HNA and Cit on the MIPs and nonimprinted polymers were investigated. It proved that MIPs showed higher selectivity adsorption to HNA and Cit t...

Molecularly Imprinted Polymers for Sample Preparation

The sample treatment/preparation steps involve any operation and manipulation of the samples prior to instrumental determination of the target compounds [1−3]. This is a critical step in the analytical process because the concentration of target analytes in the samples is frequently too low for quantification. Thus, the first step of the preparation protocol involves the exhaustive extraction/c...
