Mesh Conflation of Oblique Photogrammetric Models Using Virtual Cameras and Truncated Signed Distance Field

Conflating/stitching 2.5-D raster digital surface models (DSMs) into a large one has been running practice in geoscience applications; however, conflating full-3-D mesh models, such as those from oblique photogrammetry, is extremely challenging. In this letter, we propose novel approach to address challenge by multiple photogrammetric single and seamless for high-resolution site modeling. Given two or more individually collected created meshes, first create virtual camera field [with panoramic of view (FoV)] incubate spaces represented truncated signed distance (TSDF), an implicit volumetric friendly linear 3-D fusion; then, adaptively leverage the bound meshes TSDF conflate them accurate full model. With drone-based show that our significantly improves upon traditional methods model conflations, drive new potentials excessively support environmental applications.
