Methane Hydrate Behavior for Water–Oil Systems Containing CTAB and Synperonic PE/F127 Surfactants

چکیده
Methane hydrates were studied in systems containing aqueous dissolved surfactants oil emulsions with a volume ratio of 40/60. Two commercial surfactants, named synperonic PE/F127 and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, evaluated at 0, 350, 700 1500 ppm. Experiments made by applying the cooling–heating path an isochoric high-pressure cell different initial pressures 5.5, 8.0, 10.0 12.0 MPa. The obtained parameters induction time, temperature onset, pressure drop, dissociation conditions. results revealed that curve for methane water-in-oil was not modified surfactants. crystallization (onset) higher using comparison zero composition, while opposite occurred bromide. Both induced delaying effect on time lesser drop.

Prediction of Hydrate Formation for the Systems Containing Single and Mixed Electrolyte Solutions
In this work the effect of electrolytes on hydrate formation was investigated. To do so, a new model was used in predicting the hydrate formation conditions in presence of both single and mixed electrolyte solutions. The new model is based on the van der Waals - Platteeuw hydrate equation of state. In order to evaluate the values for the activity of water in electrolyte solutions t...

[1] Huge quantities of CH4 are stored in marine sediment in the form of methane hydrate, bubbles, and dissolved CH4 in pore water. Here I discuss the various pathways for methane to enter the ocean and atmosphere, including: (i) Methane hydrate dissolution or dissociation as it rises through seawater. The dissociation rate can be 2 to 3 orders of magnitude greater than the dissolution rate. (ii...
