چکیده
We present the development and optimization of an analytical method based on Laser Ablation–Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) for analysis multivitamin dietary supplements. Samples were ground mixed with a cellulose powder containing internal standard elements; resulting was pressed into pellets. Two calibration strategies compared: (1) using increasing mass fractions fortified multiple elements interest (2) matrix matching reference material in addition to multi-element powder. ICP-MS parameters closely monitored achieve optimal conditions monitoring multivitamins while reducing variability between replicate measurements. An energy output 0.5 J/cm2, repetition rate 30 Hz, He carrier gas flow 800 mL/min provided best compromise sensitivity reproducibility. These produced most similar ablation behavior matrix-matched strategy. The dissimilarities yield due differences focus surface samples successfully corrected after normalizing standard, relative less than 10%. results from two different approaches compared those obtained solution-based Inductively Plasma–Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) analyses. For multivitamins, both methods (i.e., calibrations) performed adequately As, B, Co, Cr, Cu, Mg, Ni, Na, Pb, Zn. Matrix-matched additionally resulted better recoveries S Fe. Overall, more comparison calibration.

Imaging Metals in Brain Tissue by Laser Ablation - Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS)
Metals are found ubiquitously throughout an organism, with their biological role dictated by both their chemical reactivity and abundance within a specific anatomical region. Within the brain, metals have a highly compartmentalized distribution, depending on the primary function they play within the central nervous system. Imaging the spatial distribution of metals has provided unique insight i...
متن کاملLaser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS): comparison of different internal standardization methods using laser-induced plasma (LIP) emission and LA-ICP-MS signals.
The source of signal variations that governs the analytical performance of laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) was investigated in this study. In order to specify the source of signal variations of LA-ICP-MS, laser-induced plasma (LIP) Fe emission, LA-ICP-MS Fe+ and LA-ICP-MS Ni+ signals were used as internal standards for the determination of trace elements ...

Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) has been developed and established as an emerging technique in the generation of quantitative images of metal distributions in thin tissue sections of brain samples (such as human, rat and mouse brain), with applications in research related to neurodegenerative disorders. A new analytical protocol is described which include...
متن کاملEvaluation of Painted Pottery from the Mesa Verde Region Using Laser Ablation-inductively Coupled Plasma-mass Spectrometry (la-icp-ms)
For decades archaeologists have struggled with the problem of accurately determining organic and mineral-based paints in pottery from the American Southwest. Using Laser Ablation-Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS), we have developed a simple and cost-effective method that permits classification of painted surfaces into mineral and organicbased categories. By applying this ...
