METHODS OF PREPARING REFERENCE SOIL SAMPLES FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE XRF-ANALYSIS

نویسندگان

چکیده

Experimental studies of the selection most optimal homogenization, sample preparation procedure, and pressing parameters have been conducted. Reference samples were selected including eference standards with certified values content elements oxides. For enhancement concentration ranges determined, 8 background typical chemical composition in STS territory additionally selected. The was by mass- atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-MS ICP-AES). Pressed pellets prepared, a semi-quantitative X-ray fluorescent analysis (XRF analysis) known carried out ‘best detection’ to identify systematic discrepancies determining compositions using destructive non-destructive analytical technique preparation.

Speciation Analysis of Elements in Soil Samples by XRF

This paper presents results of speciation analysis of soils coming from Silesia. In examinations a five-step extraction procedure has been applied. Direct analysis of sediments and analysis of extracts was carried out by the X-ray fluorescence spectrometry with wavelength dispersion. Examinations were carried out with the use of soil CRM S-l.

Field portable XRF analysis of environmental samples.

One of the critical factors for successfully conducting contamination characterization, removal, and remedial operations at hazardous waste sites is rapid and appropriate response to analyze samples in a timely fashion. Turnaround time associated with off-site analysis is often too slow to support efficient utilization of the data. Field portable X-ray fluorescence (FPXRF) techniques provide vi...

PIXE and XRF analysis of honey samples

The systematic determination of trace-element concentrations in honey samples was done by the PIXE method using a 2 MeV proton beam and by the total reflection XRF method. The different kinds of honey samples were collected in the period of spring–summer in three places of Poland: in the centre of Warsaw (a highly polluted region) and about 100 km east of Warsaw and 70 km southwest of Warsaw (a...

Non-Destructive Elemental Analysis of High-Value Artifacts With Micro-XRF

Analysis of inorganic elements in archaeological artifacts is commonly used to determine vital properties of the item, such as where, when, and how it was made. Micro X-ray Fluorescence (microXRF) is a non-destructive technique that can provide qualitative, quantitative, and distributional information from the sample, with minimal sample preparation. With potentially high-value artifacts, this ...

Monte Carlo Simulations for Non-destructive Elemental Analysis of Large Samples by Neutron Activation Analysis

Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA) is an established nuclear analytical technique with applications in a broad range of scientific and technological fields. Typically, conventional NAA involves analysis of small material portions of 10 to 100 g in mass. However, analysis of samples of a larger mass implies a number of additional advantages such as (a) analysis of objects too precious to remove ...
