Within the framework of various strategies studied for abatement polluting agents in water, both from anthropogenic and natural origins, adsorption processes are among most widespread techniques. In this context, Layered Double Hydroxides (LDHs) play a fundamental role. study, Mg–Al LDH (nitrate intercalated, Mg/Al = 2) was prepared to be used as an anion exchanger Cr(VI)-removal purposes water. The synthesized through coprecipitation reaction, followed by aging process under heating. compound characterized means inductively coupled plasma–atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES), X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR). Regarding capacity, with respect Cr(VI), isotherms reaction kinetic were studied, well described Langmuir model. A central composite design multivariate optimization working parameters. maximum capacity estimated 30 mg/g.
