چکیده

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the main precursor of cervical cancer. Pap Smear diagnostic method this neoplasm by cytological analysis, however presents a high rate false-negative cases. This study aimed to verify if micronucleus (MN) frequency test and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy analysis may be alternative useful techniques detect HPV in fluid. Fifty samples with normal cytology obtained from patients after cytopathological examination were divided into two groups based on presence or absence previous molecular biology. Of fifty analyzed, 46% showed MN cells. The observed was higher positive related age, use oral contraceptives alcoholic beverages (p <0.001). FTIR spectra peak DNA proteins (1170cm-1; 1516cm-1; 1404cm-1; 1473cm-1) compared MN, probably due chromosomal histones constituents. However, no statistically significant difference between these considering that screening not specific. Thus, technique it possible classify spectral differences presented. can considered for detection HPV, being clinical practice because practical, simple, low-cost non-invasive method. important carry out studies larger sample investigate application spectroscopy diagnosis prevention

High Resolution Ftir Spectroscopy

In FT-ICLAS, the aim is to improve the absorption detection sensitivity. The experiment combines IntraCavity Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (ICLAS) with FTIR spectroscopy. ICLAS is a well known instrumental technique in which a sample is inserted in a cell placed inside a broadband, multimode laser cavity. The laser is operating in pulsed mode and intracavity absorption rises as the laser wave b...

BD-ProExC as adjunct molecular marker for improved detection of CIN2+ after HPV primary screening.

BACKGROUND AND METHODS We investigated the efficacy of 8 cervical cancer screening strategies relative to cytology with emphasis on immunocytochemical detection of high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV)-induced cell transformation (BD-ProExC) as a tool of triage following primary cytology or hrHPV testing. 3,126 women were tested with BD-SurePath liquid-based cytology, hrHPV PCR genotyping and ...
