Mindful practice for teachers: Relieving stress and enhancing positive mindsets

Objectives The present study aimed to determine the degree of stress relief and increase in mindfulness attributes experienced by 18 participants an 8-week Mindful Practice for Teachers (MPT) program. Methods mixed-methods design included participant reflections collected throughout self-report measures: Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Positive Mindset Index (PMI), Five Facets Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ). Data analysis Pre- post-program paired-samples t -tests were completed measures. Inductive coding was reflections. Results ( N = 18) reported a significant decrease perceived pre-program post-program. changes sub-scales FFMQ observing , non-reaction non-judgment A statistically change PMI sub-scale stability which increased According reflections, there awareness physiological response during positive challenging events/incidents. satisfaction pertaining program materials, exercises, activities. Conclusion Findings indicated that their level consequently highlighting benefits mindfulness-based programs teacher management. MPT may prove be intervention managing work-related providing teachers with simple, management resources.
