چکیده
Abstract Background Stage III melanoma is a heterogenous disease, and the number of tumor-involved lymph nodes most significantly unfavorable prognostic indicator for relapse outcome. The aim this study to investigate possible effects various clinicopathological factors on course node-positive stage disease. Methods A total 389 cutaneous melanomas were included in analyzed retrospectively. All underwent pathological nodal staging by sentinel node biopsy or elective dissection. Results group was male-dominant (59%) median age 50 years. largest patients N1 (n = 221, 56.8%) followed N2 105, 27.0%) N3 63, 16.2%). less frequently associated with relapses than multiple metastases (P 0.05). 5-year relapse-free survival rate 37.9%. 0.01), higher mitotic 0.005) ulceration 0.02) had worse RFS. In multivariate analysis only significances N2–N3 0.016) mitosis 0.012) persisted. severe metastasis (N2–N3) mortality comparison single involvement overall 52.1%. Presence 0.0001), 0.03) 0.04) inversely correlated survival. When analysis, it significant factor whereas became exclusion from 0.031). Conclusion melanoma, tumor might be just as metastatic number.

Lymph node ratio is an important and independent prognostic factor for patients with stage III melanoma.
INTRODUCTION The incidence of melanoma is dramatically increasing worldwide. We hypothesized that the ratio of metastatic to examined lymph node ratio (LNR) would be the most important prognostic factor for stage III patients. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed our institutional database of melanoma patients and identified 168 patients who underwent lymph node dissection (LND) for stage III ...

متن کاملPrognostic Value of Lymph Node Ratio in comparison to Lymph Node Metastases in Stage III Colon Cancer
Background & Objectives: Colon cancer is currently of high incidence and mortality rate. Identifying the factors influencing its prognosis can be very beneficial to its clinical treatment. Recent studies have shown that lymph nodes ratio can be considered as an important prognostic factor. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of this factor on the prognosis of the ...
متن کاملLymph node density as an independent prognostic factor in node-positive patients with tonsillar cancer.
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to evaluate the utility of lymph node density for predicting the survival of patients with tonsillar cancer and positive neck nodes. METHODS We reviewed data for 64 patients diagnosed with tonsillar cancer with lymph node metastasis in a retrospective single center audit. RESULTS Lymph node density (≥0.05), extracapsular spread (ECS), number of ECS (...
