Mixed Plantations Induce More Soil Macroaggregate Formation and Facilitate Soil Nitrogen Accumulation

چکیده

Nitrogen plays a crucial role in limiting plant growth and determining net primary productivity forest ecosystems. However, variations influencing factors of soil nitrogen distribution on the aggregate scale pure mixed Chinese fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata (Lamb.) Hook) plantations remain unclear. This study aimed to explore how composition, geometric mean diameter (GMD), weight (MWD), total (TN), acidolyzable (TAN), available (AN), nonacidolyzable (AIN), amino acid (AAN), nitrate (NO3−-N), cidolyzable ammonia (AMN), unknown-acidolyzable (HUN), sugar (ASN), ammonium (NH4+-N) contents stocks varied with size (>2, 1–2, 0.25–1, <0.25 mm) stand type [Chinese Michelia macclurei Dandy (CF + MM), Mytilaria laosensis Lecomte ML) stands (CF)] 0–20 20–40 cm depth. Soil N content different types decreased as increased, whereas stock exhibited opposite trend. In contrast CF soil, MM ML displayed significant increase MWD, GMD, aggregate-associated TN, AN, NO3−-N, NH4+-N, AIN, AAN, ASN, AMN stocks, especially soil. Organic was more sensitive response than mineral N. Redundancy analysis Pearson’s correlation indicated that 0.25–1 mm proportion main controlling factor for storage. Overall, this contributed significantly promotion sustainable use resources reference information scientific management development forests.

Depth of nitrogen fertiliser placement affects nitrogen accumulation, translocation and nitrate-nitrogen content in soil of rainfed wheat

A field experiment was conducted to examine the effects of different depths ofnitrogen (N) fertiliser placements on N accumulation, remobilisation and NO3−-Ncontent in soil of rainfed wheat. Nitrogen was applied on the surface (D1) and inthe 10 cm (D2), 20 cm (D3) and 30 cm (D4) soil layers from 2010 to 2012.Compared with D1 and D2, D3 and D4 treatments obtained significant higher Ndistribution...

Eubacterial communities in different soil macroaggregate environments and cropping systems

Different positions within soil macroaggregates, and macroaggregates of different sizes, have different chemical and physical properties which could affect microbial growth and interactions among taxa. The hypothesis that these soil aggregate fractions contain different eubacterial communities was tested using terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) of the 16S ribosomal gene....

Maize response to water, salinity and nitrogen levels: soil and plant ions accumulation

In the present study, some nutritional imbalances, specific ion toxicity and yield-ion concentration relationships in maize under water, nitrogen (N) and salinity stresses were assessed. Effect of different levels of irrigation water (I1=1.0ETc+0.25ETc as leaching, I2 =0.75I1 and I3 =0.5I1) as main plot, salinity of irrigation water (S1=0.6, S2= 2.0 and S3=4.0 dS m-1) as sub-plot and N fertiliz...

Nitrogen and Soil Fertility

amounts involved are much smaller. The amount of boron in the 7-ton potato crop (if determined) would have been about 0.2 pound. In the case of boron (and to a lesser degree the other micronutrients) if the soil contains excessive amounts, toxic quantities are absorbed by plants and growth is restricted. The need for a reasonable balance in amounts of available nutrients in the soil has been po...
