Model emulators and complexity management at the environmental science-action interface

چکیده
As our understanding of the interactions present in socio-ecological systems advance, emulation modeling can help reduce complexity and required computational resources models used to represent these systems. While is commonly model meta-analyses parameterization, it has been less explored context environmental management. In this research, I analyze reflections a group watershed modelers on emulation. find that decreased simulation run-times are an important motivation because emulators enable stakeholders interact directly with model. However, participants also reported criteria for emulator management should assess its capability act as platform learning manage stakeholder perceptions process. Further, at science-action interface, play significant role approach through determining acceptable levels processes inputs.
