Finite element (FE) model updating can guarantee the accuracy of numerical analyses for civil structures. However, two deficiencies currently exist with traditional FE technique based on measurements modal parameters and/or static structural responses built structure respect to its reference information insufficiency and non-unique solution generally obtained, hampering extensive use. It becomes goal whole engineering community introduce new effective methods update. To this end, an innovative method using data from construction monitoring is proposed in article. With regard theoretical novelty, transforms complicated multi-variable optimization mathematical problem into many simple single-variable parameter identification problems. Under background Huangsha Harbor Bridge, a three-span concrete continuous box girder bridge constructed utilizing symmetric cantilever casting method, effectiveness efficiency practice were validated. demonstrated quantitative that abundant measured Bridge stages enhance more accurate structure, uncertain initial be progressively easily identified linear regression models, instead one or employed by approaches, which leads solutions rendered normal algorithms.
