چکیده
The growing integration of technology into education, particularly in the STEM fields, has tended to focus on its objective advantages, ignoring affective potential. To explore this potential, based some principles Kansei/Affective Engineering, an initial analysis was conducted considering 501 interventions a conversation among six students about previous e-learning experience. revealed need for personalized feedback, self-adapted pace, and possibility express. Based identified needs, three activities (applets dynamic reasoning contextualized movement Sun) were designed value tool through feedback it provided. Thirteen engineering at Japanese university participated experiment results analyzed type (task-focus/constructivist, self-focus/motivational) purpose as well indicators Instructional Feedback Orientation Scale. model constructed each student that those who attributed higher showed greater relation between received reaction selected (completion-positive, correction-negative). Furthermore, found proposed can inform future designs potential promote positive reactions.

Modeling E-Learning Activities in Automated Planning
This paper presents three approaches to generate learning designs using existing domain-independent planners. All of the approaches compile a course defined in a standard e-learning language into a planning domain, and a file containing student’s learning information into a planning problem. The learning designs are automatically generated from the plans that solve the problems. The approaches ...
متن کاملAn Approach to Interactive Affective Learning Algorithms
To solve multi-objective decision-making problems without explicit mathematical description for objective functions, traditional interactive evolutionary computing approaches are usually limited in searching ability and vulnerable to human’s subjectivity. Motivated by this observation, a novel affective computing and learning solution adapted to human-computer interaction mechanism is explicitl...
متن کاملA Chinese Interactive Feedback System for an e-Learning Website
Considering the popularity of the Internet, an automatic interactive feedback system for e-learning websites is becoming increasingly desirable. However, there are still some problems for computers to understand the natural language, especially the Chinese language. First, because the Chinese language has no space to segment the lexical entry, its segmentation method is more difficult than that...
متن کاملAffective Modeling and Recognition of Learning Emotion: Application to E-learning
Affective computing has been the focus of artificial intelligence for several years. The amalgamation of affective computing and facial expression recognition technique has lead to the possibility of harmonious human-computer interaction in E-learning. But the fact of E-learning is that emotional absences between computer and E-learner are serious. This paper researches into the learning emotio...
متن کاملNeural circuitry underlying affective response to peer feedback in adolescence.
Peer feedback affects adolescents' behaviors, cognitions and emotions. We examined neural circuitry underlying adolescents' emotional response to peer feedback using a functional neuroimaging paradigm whereby, 36 adolescents (aged 9-17 years) believed they would interact with unknown peers postscan. Neural activity was expected to vary based on adolescents' perceptions of peers and feedback typ...
