Modeling multimodal access to primary care in an urban environment

Access to primary health care facilities is a key component of public health, and measuring that access vital understanding how target interventions. Transportation one dimension distance via multiple modes allows better varied populations care, particularly those who do not have personal vehicle. This work builds on the 2-Step Floating Catchment Area (2SFCA) method include travel by car, bus, bicycle, walking. Travel time data are sourced from OpenStreetMap transit incorporates stop schedule information General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS). Open source analysis tools used aid reproducibility in other geographic contexts. Modal weights assigned measure population accessing each facility mode. values for Milwaukee County Wisconsin, USA presented, with clear differences shown among healthcare. Car high consistent across county, while biking walking more impacted destination. unequal county some tracts showing no at all. The highly results mode emphasize importance non-car modes, when targeting communities rates car ownership. Improvement multimodal measurement will allow targeted interventions account availability community.
