چکیده
This work deals with the numerical modeling of spillage and debris floods as Newtonian viscoplastic Bingham flows free surface using mixed stabilized finite elements. The main objective is determination location flow. A velocity/pressure element formulation used Orthogonal Subgrid Scale stabilization (OSS) Split (Split-OSS) techniques enable equal order interpolation for velocity pressure. double viscosity regularized model introduced an alternative to Papanastasiou model. analytical solution a Poiseuille flow has been obtained convergence test performed compare both models. simplified Eulerian method solved on fixed mesh presented track movement surface. done by transporting level set method. solutions are compared analytical, experimental results benchmarks from literature. They also field data in real case study, due failure mining reservoir, which 3D 2D

Mixed Finite Elements for Variational Surface Modeling
Many problems in geometric modeling can be described using variational formulations that define the smoothness of the shape and its behavior w.r.t. the posed modeling constraints. For example, high-quality C2 surfaces that obey boundary conditions on positions, tangents and curvatures can be conveniently defined as solutions of high-order geometric PDEs; the advantage of such a formulation is i...
متن کاملStabilized Space-Time Finite Element Formulations for Free-Surface Flows
Aspects of a method for 3D finite element computation of unsteady, incompressible freesurface flow are presented. The approach is based on the Deformable-Spatial-Domain/ Stabilized Space-Time (DSD/SST) finite element formulation, which takes automatically into account the deformation of the elements in response to the motion of the free surface. The free-surface elevation is governed by a kinem...
متن کاملParallel Stabilized Finite Element Simulation of Free Surface Flows with Violent Motions
Abstract. Flows with violent free-surface motions occur in several problems in hydrodynamics, such as fuel or water sloshing in tanks, waves breaking in ships, offshore platforms, harbors and coastal areas. The computation of such highly nonlinear flows is challenging since free-surfaces commonly present merging, fragmentation and breaking parts, leading to the use of interface capturing Euleri...
