Modelling and simulation of urban air mobility: an extendable approach

Abstract This paper presents an extendable approach to the modelling and simulation of Urban Air Mobility (UAM), dissemination criteria for system systems driven studies. UAM involves a multitude complexities including airspace, fleet, demand, vertidrome management. Simulation is key enabler understanding these interaction different stakeholders within paradigm. work builds upon past research authors framework which includes passenger mode choice, vehicle allocation heterogenous fleets, route planning, deadheading, scheduling, flight scheduling with stop-overs. The presented in this can be used model both on-demand scheduled operations, while primary focus placed on former. Moreover, methods implemented detailed stakeholders, addition parametrically varying aspects such as fleet size, number vertidromes, others. aims are two, firstly offer by breaking down its complexity systematically simpler blocks, namely processes interaction, through emergent behavior may more easily observed or understood. Secondly, it provide clear method goal establishing common standard, demonstrated authors’ reader.
