Modular Inference Trees for Expository Reports
When people write a report that involves a complex argument towards a conclusion, they can use a design tool called the inference tree, which enables them to outline the argument, and quickly detect reasoning errors in the outline. Yet when the argument is very complex, the inference tree may spread over several pages, so that writers may often have to flip back and forth between those pages. T...
متن کاملAnnotation inference for modular checkers
interpretation [2] is a standard framework for developing and describing program analyses. We can view an annotation assistant as an abstract interpretation, where the abstract state space is the power set lattice PG and the checker is used to compute the abstract transition relation. As usual, the choice of the abstract state space controls the conservative approximations performed by the anal...
متن کاملStatistical Inference for Cluster Trees
A cluster tree provides a highly-interpretable summary of a density function by representing the hierarchy of its high-density clusters. It is estimated using the empirical tree, which is the cluster tree constructed from a density estimator. This paper addresses the basic question of quantifying our uncertainty by assessing the statistical significance of topological features of an empirical c...
متن کاملModular Edge-Graceful Trees
Ryan Jones, Western Michigan University We introduce a modular edge-graceful labeling of a graph a dual concept to the common graceful labeling. A 1991 conjecture known as the Modular Edge-Graceful Tree Conjecture states that every tree of order n where n 6≡ 2 (mod 4) is modular edge-graceful. We show that this conjecture is true. More general results and questions on this topic are presented.
متن کاملSIMoNe: Statistical Inference for MOdular NEtworks
SUMMARY The R package SIMoNe (Statistical Inference for MOdular NEtworks) enables inference of gene-regulatory networks based on partial correlation coefficients from microarray experiments. Modelling gene expression data with a Gaussian graphical model (hereafter GGM), the algorithm estimates non-zero entries of the concentration matrix, in a sparse and possibly high-dimensional setting. Its o...
