Monitoring of Power Towers’ Movement Using Persistent Scatterer SAR Interferometry in South West of Tehran

چکیده

The Tehran basin has been increasingly affected by subsidence during the last few decades due to groundwater withdrawal. Hence, study of strength power towers (PTs) transmission lines, as vital structures, is an important subject. In this paper, persistent scatterer interferometry (PSI) method was applied on data stacks from two satellites (i.e., X-band COSMO-SkyMed (CSK) and C-band Sentinel-1A (S-1A)) obtained between 2014 2016 investigate deformation exact amount displacement in each PT area interest. Based results, same time interval (between October February 2016), vertical velocities calculated using CSK S-1A were about −86 −79 mm/y, respectively. Although analysis resulted a better interpretation PTs, its high resolution shorter wavelength, S-1 also demonstrated sufficient (PS) points. research proves that most PTs along line are land subsidence, which puts them serious jeopardy. They must be constantly monitored ensure their safety accurate operation. results complete agreement with information existing global positioning system (GPS) station our observations piezometric wells declining trends reservoir, greatest effect rate area. revealed at risk.

Persistent Scatterer Interferometry Using Adaptive Deformation Models

Because the quality assessment of Persistent Scatterers (PS) is dependent on the deformation model chosen, PS may be falsely rejected due to model imperfections. To accept these PS, more advanced deformation models should be used. However, the decreased rank of the estimation problem increases the chance of unwrapping errors. Therefore, advanced deformation models should only be applied when ne...

Persistent Scatterer Interferometry Using Sentinel-1 Data

This paper is focused on deformation monitoring using a Persistent Scatterer Interferometry technique and the interferometric SAR data acquired by the Sentinel-1 satellite of the European Space Agency. The first part of the paper describes the procedure used to process and analyze Sentinel-1 interferometric SAR data. Two main approaches are described. The first one is a simplified Persistent Sc...

Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) Technique for Landslide Characterization and Monitoring

The measurement of landslide superficial displacement often represents the most effective method for defining its behavior, allowing one to observe the relationship with triggering factors and to assess the effectiveness of the mitigation measures. Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) represents a powerful tool to measure landslide displacement, as it offers a synoptic view that can be rep...

Application of Persistent Scatterer Interferometry for Land Subsidence Monitoring in Sydney, Australia using ENVISAT ASAR Data

The aim of this research is to investigate the terrain deformation in the metropolitan area of Sydney using multiple satellite radar imagery. The persistent scatterer interferometry (PSI) strategy developed at Geodesy and Earth Observing Systems Group (GEOS) of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) is used to map the land deformation in Sydney with C-band ENVISAT radar images in this study. ...
