Multi-criteria optimization for the design and operation of distributed energy systems considering sustainability dimensions

The growing concerns about climate change and energy security have led to a shift in the paradigm of framework. In this regard, distributed generation offers possibility deal with inefficiencies delivering, fossil fuel dependence conventional centralized power plants. This work presents modeling multi-criteria optimization strategy for designing operating decentralized plants including different vectors. approach considers time-varying operation conversion units responding electricity hydrogen demands, along seasonal behavior storage system. A evaluation addressing economic, environmental social aspects was implemented. objective functions are total annualized cost, CO2 emissions grid dependence. According results, it is highlighted influence assessed criteria upon structure policy plant. Additionally, by comparing performance system respect scenario, noted significant potential generation. Indeed, depending on goal, emission reduction up 89%, self-sufficiency 81% can be achieved.
