The global growth of the Internet continues with an increase in accessibility, connected users and new applications emerging fields like egames, augmented virtual reality. Technologies that improve reliability whilst reducing cost latency are being developed. However, before can sustain utilisation there challenges to overcome. One key remaining is develop mechanisms for intra inter-domain federation facilitate fast, reliable, secure sharing reachability routing information. Software Defined Networking (SDN) introduced address control management at domain boundaries. This paper reviews current state discusses potential approaches utilise SDN a next-generation solution.
