Multi-Objective Bus Timetable Coordination Considering Travel Time Uncertainty

This paper proposes a timetable coordination method for transfer problems in bus transit system. With given network, stochastic mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model has been formulated to obtain coordinated timetables with the objective of minimizing weighted sum average value total waiting time and its absolute deviation value, allowing random travel time. The vital decision variable is terminal departure offset each target trip within certain off-peak period. robust MILP can also be used solve first-bus problem introduction several new constraints. A solution based on Monte Carlo simulation developed model. Numerical experiments have conducted different scenarios. results indicate that by are capable substantially reducing non-transfer passengers. In addition, feasibility simplifying common sub-route into single stop explored numerical experiments.
