Multichromic Behavior of Liquid Crystalline Composite Polymeric Films

In this study, we describe the synthesis of a cholesterol-linked cyanostilobazole salt dye and tuning its luminescence by physical stimuli such as electricity grinding. The dyes exhibited liquid-crystalline properties at temperatures above 170 °C. Some solutions were transformed into orange luminescent gels upon addition poor solvents. When solvent was evaporated, resulting solid xerogel mechanochromism, color changed, changed from to red. Furthermore, investigated construction functional (mechanochromic gels) that can respond two stimuli, damage detection abrasive responsiveness, electrical response using ionic liquid complexes polymers dispersing media. This study provides new strategy for switching non-chemical in single-component system aggregation.
