Multicopy Adaptive Local Discrimination: Strongest Possible Two-Qubit Nonlocal Bases
نویسندگان
چکیده
Ensembles of composite quantum states can exhibit nonlocal behaviour in the sense that their optimal discrimination may require global operations. Such an ensemble containing N pairwise orthogonal pure states, however, always be perfectly distinguished under adaptive local scheme if (N-1) copies state are available. In this letter, we provide examples orthonormal bases two-qubit Hilbert space whose 3 state. For system analyze multi-copy distinguishability ensembles full generality which turn assigns varying strength to different such ensembles. We also come up with separable less number than schemes. Our construction finds important application multipartite secret sharing tasks and indicates towards intriguing super-additivity phenomenon for locally accessible information.

متن کاملQuantifying the effects of local many-qubit errors and nonlocal two-qubit errors on the surface code
Topological quantum error correction codes are known to be able to tolerate arbitrary local errors given sufficient qubits. This includes correlated errors involving many local qubits. In this work, we quantify this level of tolerance, numerically studying the effects of many-qubit errors on the performance of the surface code. We find that if increasingly large-area errors are at least moderat...
متن کاملDiscrimination of two-qubit unitaries via local operations and classical communication.
Distinguishability is a fundamental and operational measure generally connected to information applications. In quantum information theory, from the postulates of quantum mechanics it often has an intrinsic limitation, which then dictates and also characterises capabilities of related information tasks. In this work, we consider discrimination between bipartite two-qubit unitary transformations...
متن کاملA Tale of Two Bases: Local-Nonlocal Regularization on Image Patches with Convolution Framelets
We propose an image representation scheme combining the local and nonlocal characterization of patches in an image. Our representation scheme can be shown to be equivalent to a tight frame constructed from convolving local bases (e.g., wavelet frames, discrete cosine transforms, etc.) with nonlocal bases (e.g., spectral basis induced by nonlinear dimension reduction on patches), and we call the...
متن کاملThe Strongest Possible Lewisian Triviality Result
David Lewis [8, 7] published several triviality results involving The Equation. Since then, several other authors have published similar triviality results (see, e.g., [5, 11]). In section two, I will explain the basic ideas behind all of these Lewisian triviality results. In section three, I will prove a new Lewisian triviality result. In fact, I will prove the strongest possible result of thi...
