Multimodal preferene heterogeneity in choice-based conjoint analysis: a simulation study

چکیده
Abstract The most commonly used variant of conjoint analysis is choice-based (CBC). Here, hierarchical Bayesian (HB) multinomial logit (MNL) models are widely for preference estimation at the individual respondent level. A new and very flexible approach to address multimodal skewed heterogeneity in context CBC Dirichlet Process Mixture (DPM) MNL model. number masses components do not have be predisposed like latent class (LC) model or mixture-of-normals (MoN) aim this Monte Carlo study evaluate performance choice (basic MNL, HB-MNL, MoN-MNL, LC-MNL DPM-MNL models) under varying data conditions (especially structures) using statistical criteria parameter recovery, goodness-of-fit predictive accuracy. core finding from that standard HB-MNL appears highly robust settings .

Adaptive Choice-Based Conjoint Analysis
Conjoint analysis (CA) has emerged as an important approach to the assessment of health service preferences. This article examines Adaptive Choice-Based Conjoint Analysis (ACBC) and reviews available evidence comparing ACBC with conventional approaches to CA. ACBC surveys more closely approximate the decision-making processes that influence real-world choices. Informants begin ACBC surveys by c...
متن کاملChoice Based Conjoint Analysis: Discrete Choice Models vs. Direct Regression
Conjoint analysis is family of techniques that originated in psychology and later became popular in market research. The main objective of conjoint analysis is to measure an individual’s or a population’s preferences on a class options that can be described by parameters and their levels. We consider preference data obtained in choice based conjoint analysis studies, where one observes test per...
متن کاملa study on rate making and required reserves determination in reinsurance market: a simulation
reinsurance is widely recognized as an important instrument in the capital management of an insurance company as well as its risk management tool. this thesis is intended to determine premium rates for different types of reinsurance policies. also, given the fact that the reinsurance coverage of every company depends upon its reserves, so different types of reserves and the method of their calc...
Modeling Multimodal Continuous Heterogeneity in Conjoint Analysis - A Sparse Learning Approach
Consumers’ preferences can often be represented using a multimodal continuous heterogeneity distribution. One explanation for such a preference distribution is that consumers belong to a few distinct segments, with preferences of consumers in each segment being heterogeneous and unimodal. We propose an innovative approach for modeling such multimodal distributions that builds on recent advances...
متن کاملAdaptive Hybrid Methods for Choice-Based Conjoint Analysis: A Comparative Study
Adaptive choice-based conjoint analysis (ACBC) and hybrid individualized two-level choice-based conjoint analysis (HIT-CBC) were developed to improve standard choice-based conjoint analysis through additional interviewing techniques. Both methods have demonstrated their applicability in comparison to standard choice-based conjoint methods. The objective of our study was a direct comparison of t...
