An Approach to Deriving Maximal Invariant Statistics
Invariance principles is one of the ways to summarize sample information and by these principles invariance or equivariance decision rules are used. In this paper, first, the methods for finding the maximal invariant function are introduced. As a new method, maximal invariant statistics are constructed using equivariant functions. Then, using several equivariant functions, the maximal invariant...
متن کاملMaximal cluster sets of L-analytic functions along arbitrary curves
Let Ω be a domain in the N -dimensional real space, L be an elliptic differential operator, and (Tn) be a sequence whose members belong to a certain class of operators defined on the space of L-analytic functions on Ω. It is proved in this paper the existence of a dense linear manifold of L-analytic functions all of whose nonzero members have maximal cluster sets under the action of every Tn al...
متن کاملOn Maximal Functions over Circular Sectors with Rotation Invariant Measures
Given a rotation invariant measure in Rn, we define the maximal operator over circular sectors. We prove that it is of strong type (p, p) for p > 1 and we give necessary and sufficient conditions on the measure for the weak type (1, 1) inequality. Actually we work in a more general setting containing the above and other situations. Let X be a topological space and μ be a Borel measure on X. By ...
متن کاملInvariant Multiparameter Sensitivity of Oscillator Networks
The behavior of neuronal and other biological systems is determined by their parameter values. We introduce a new metric to quantify the sensitivity of output to parameter changes. This metric is referred to as invariant multiparameter sensitivity (IMPS) because it takes on the same value for a class of equivalent systems. As a simplification of neuronal membrane, we calculate, in parallel resi...
متن کاملUniqueness of Dilation Invariant Norms
Let δa be a nontrivial dilation. We show that every complete norm ‖ · ‖ on L1(RN ) that makes δa from (L1(RN ), ‖ · ‖) into itself continuous is equivalent to ‖ · ‖1. δa also determines the norm of both C0(R ) and Lp(RN ) with 1 < p < ∞ in a weaker sense. Furthermore, we show that even all the dilations do not determine the norm on L∞(RN ).
