Multiphysics simulation of a solid oxide fuel cell based on COMSOL method

Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are promising high-effective energy conversion devices for wide sources and high efficiency. Based on non-linear kinetics at triple-phase-boundary, a three-dimensional model with single flow channel was constructed. Distribution of mass flow, temperature current density in different configuration working conditions were investigated. Critical factors voltage output, power reactant utilizations determined. It is concluded that increasing can give better performances. The increase inlet results an increased but decrease utilization numerical simulation provides scientific basis control strategy structural design SOFC.
