Multiple Fano Resonances in Dynamic Resonant Tunneling Processes

چکیده

The existence of Fano resonances in dynamic resonant tunneling (RT) systems has been investigated. are characterized by the appearance a 100% reflection coefficient proximity to high transmission coefficient. For resonance appear, bound state must exist. On other hand, process is and quasi-bound (QBS) instead one. It shown that, narrowing width barrier, energy QBS gradually decreases eventually turns into state. Consequently, RT process, there two scenarios: either exists, which case, exist for any barrier width, or should be narrow enough appear. In both cases, incoming particle’s frequency lower than oscillating well’s frequency. this work, these investigated detail, exactly numerically approximated analytical expressions derived weak strong amplitude regimes. One conclusions when low enough, multiple can appear varying barrier’s width. Since very sharp zero easily detected, property used as accurate method measuring even de-Broglie wavelength much larger

Dynamic instability in resonant tunneling

We show that an instability may be present in resonant tunneling through a quantum well in one, two and three dimensions, when the resonance lies near the emitter Fermi level. A simple semiclassical model which simulates the resonance and the projected density of states by a nonlinear conductor, the Coulomb barrier by a capacitance, and the time evolution by an iterated map, is used. The model ...

Multiple Fano resonances in single-layer nonconcentric core-shell nanostructures.

Multiple plasmonic Fano resonances are generally considered to require complex nanostructures, such as multilayer structure, to provide several dark modes that can couple with the bright mode. In this paper, we show the existence of multiple Fano resonances in single layer core-shell nanostructures where the multiple dark modes appear due to the geometrical symmetry breaking induced by axial of...

Fano resonances in nanoscale sctructures

Nowadays nanotechnology allows to scale-down various important devices (sensors, chips, fibres, etc), and, thus, opens up new horizon for their applications. Nevertheless, the efficiency most of them is still based on the fundamental physical phenomena, such as resonances. Thus, the understanding of the resonance phenomena will be beneficial. One of the well-known examples is the resonant enhan...

Fano resonances in nanoscale structures

Modern nanotechnology allows one to scale down various important devices sensors, chips, fibers, etc. and thus opens up new horizons for their applications. The efficiency of most of them is based on fundamental physical phenomena, such as transport of wave excitations and resonances. Short propagation distances make phase-coherent processes of waves important. Often the scattering of waves inv...

Emulating one-dimensional resonant Q-matching behavior in a two-dimensional system via Fano resonances

Through detailed numerical and analytical studies, we establish that the significant enhancement of thermal emission via Q matching, which has been possible in one-dimensional 1D systems only, can be extended to two-dimensional 2D systems by means of Fano resonances in the 2D system. In particular, we show the existence of essentially 1D behavior in a 2D system—a case of reduced dimensionality....
