Muscle Transcriptome Analysis Reveals Molecular Mechanisms of Superior Growth Performance in Kuruma Shrimp, Marsupenaeus japonicus

چکیده
During the cultivation of Marsupenaeus japonicus, there are often obvious differences in growth within same family under food, water quality, and environment, which greatly affects efficiency. To explore molecular mechanism this difference, study used RNA-seq technology to compare transcriptomes M. japonicus individuals with significant from family. A total 1375 differentially expressed genes were identified, 1109 upregulated 266 downregulated. Gene Ontology (GO) Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) analyses performed on genes, results showed that growth-related processes, including chitin metabolism, chitin-binding amino sugar antioxidant response oxidative stress, peroxidase activity, between large-size small-size groups. The expression levels some such as cuticular protein, low-density lipoprotein receptor, ecdysteroid kinase, myosin heavy chain, apoptosis inhibitor, verified by quantitative PCR experiments. One cuticle gene was annotated, phylogenetic analysis sequence clustered penaeid genes. This provides valuable data a scientific basis for understanding at molecular-genetic level.

kuruma shrimp, Penaeus japonicus
A filamentous form of mollicute-like bacterium was detected during a routine health survey of wild adult kuruma shrimp Penaeus japonicus. The kuruma shrimp were native to Japan and were imported to Korea. The histology showed no pathological changes. Transmission electron microscopy revealed extensive infections of hepatopancreatic epithelial cells by a pleomorphic, filamentous intracellular ba...
متن کاملAntibacterial activity of serine protease inhibitor 1 from kuruma shrimp Marsupenaeus japonicus.
Serine protease inhibitors (Serpins) are a large family of protease inhibitors involved in many critical biological processes such as blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, programmed cell death, development, and innate immunity. We identified MjSerp1, a serpin in the kuruma shrimp Marsupenaeus japonicus. The MjSerp1 cDNA has a 1239 bp open reading frame (ORF) that encodes a 412-amino acid protein wi...
متن کاملExpression of innate immunity genes in kuruma shrimp Marsupenaeus japonicus after in vivo stimulation with garlic extract (allicin)
In recent times, attention has focused on immunostimulants and plant products which could have beneficial effects in disease control. At present, the application of immunostimulants has been considered a more effective approach to health management in aquaculture through the enhancement of immune capability and disease resistance in shrimp. Garlic possesses bactericidal property against bacteri...
متن کاملA Galectin from the Kuruma Shrimp (Marsupenaeus japonicus) Functions as an Opsonin and Promotes Bacterial Clearance from Hemolymph
Galectins are a lectin family characterized by a conserved sequence motif in the carbohydrate recognition domain, which preferential binds to galactosyl moieties. However, few studies about the biological roles of galectins in invertebrates have been reported except for the galectin (CvGal1) from the eastern oyster Crassostrea virginica. Furthermore, galectins have been described in only a few ...
متن کاملRecombinant VP28 Produced by Cell-Free Technique Confers Protection in Kuruma Shrimp (Marsupenaeus japonicus) Against White Spot Syndrome Virus
Shrimp is one of the most important species in aquaculture. During the last two decades, shrimp culture has been threatened worldwide by viral diseases. A highly pathogenic white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is responsible for huge economic losses in the shrimp culture industry, and no effective treatment is currently available for it (Rajesh Kumar et al., 2008). Cumulative mortalities in infecte...
