Nanocellulose and its derivative materials for energy and environmental applications

The application of biomass-derived renewable materials has generated great interest in recent research works. Among many such biopolymers, nanocellulose become the leading topic sphere sustainable material owing to outstanding mechanical, chemical and thermal properties along with non-toxicity, surface functionality, ease modification sustainability. Nanocellulose is often considered be a second-generation resource better replacement for conventional petroleum-based products or without any modifications. Even though some reviews have reported on applications nanocellulose, so far there no comprehensive report gathering extraction, properties, functionalization towards energy environmental applications. This review aims present use based challenges. Important characteristics as crystallinity, hydrophilicity, decomposition charge are described function targeted In latter part this review, we looked into studies area air pollution, heavy metal sorption, dye adsorption, biosensors, EMI shielding, fuel cell, solar lithium-ion batteries biofuels etc. However, green, scalable extraction yet fulfilled. our view, bacterial approach can address all these issues added advantage producing very high purity nanocellulose. Hence intended provide new insights field eco-friendly functional included in-depth perspectives about its future current trends.
