Natural lighting optimization through configuration of shading device for library in East Jakarta

Abstract Visual comfort is an important thing to consider in designing a library. The quality of lighting reading rooms public libraries Jakarta still below the SNI standard 300 lux. This study will discuss about optimizing and utilizing natural for room by using combination several types shading devices. method used performing simulations comparisons. A total 138 devices were simulated with VELUX Daylight Visualizer software compared find best results. results comparative analysis show that GH1-19 device provides most optimal average illumination level 548 lux uniformity ratio 0.81 different seasons, times, orientations.
