Nearly scale-invariant curvature modes from entropy perturbations during the graceful exit phase

چکیده
In this Letter, we describe how a spectrum of entropic perturbations generated during period slow contraction can source nearly scale-invariant curvature on length scales larger than the Hubble radius transition from to classical non-singular bounce (the `graceful exit' phase). The sourcing occurs naturally through higher-order scalar field kinetic terms common (non-singular) mechanisms. We present concrete example in which, by end graceful exit phase, initial fluctuations have become negligible and with an amplitude consistent observations.

Large-scale curvature and entropy perturbations for multiple interacting fluids
We present a gauge-invariant formalism to study the evolution of curvature perturbations in a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe filled by multiple interacting fluids. We resolve arbitrary perturbations into adiabatic and entropy components and derive their coupled evolution equations. We demonstrate that perturbations obeying a generalised adiabatic condition remain adiabatic in the large-sca...
متن کاملGraceful Exit in Extended Inflation and Implications for Density Perturbations
Two qualitatively different modes of ending superluminal expansion are possible in extended inflation. One mode, different from the one envoked in most extended models to date, easily avoids making big bubbles that distort the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR). In this mode, the spectrum of density fluctuations is found to be scale-free, P (k) ∝ k, where n might lie anywhere between ...
متن کاملAdiabatic ekpyrosis: scale-invariant curvature perturbations from a single scalar field in a contracting universe.
The Universe can be made flat and smooth by undergoing a phase of ultraslow (ekpyrotic) contraction, a condition achievable with a single, canonical scalar field and conventional general relativity. It has been argued, though, that generating scale-invariant density perturbations requires at least two scalar fields and a two-step process that first produces entropy fluctuations and then convert...
متن کاملNearly scale invariant spectrum of gravitational radiation from global phase transitions.
Using a large N sigma model approximation we explicitly calculate the power spectrum of gravitational waves arising from a global phase transition in the early Universe and we confirm that it is scale invariant, implying an observation of such a spectrum may not be a unique feature of inflation. Moreover, the predicted amplitude can be over 3 orders of magnitude larger than the naive dimensiona...
متن کاملGraceful Exit in String Cosmology
The graceful exit transition from a dilaton-driven inflationary phase to a decelerated Friedmann−Robertson−Walker era requires certain classical and quantum corrections to the string effective action. Classical corrections can stabilize a high curvature string phase while the evolution is still in the weakly coupled regime, and quantum corrections can induce violation of the null energy conditi...
