چکیده

In contemporary planning, the development of soft regions through inter-municipal collaborations plays an increasingly important role. However, as previous research has shown, local borders and jurisdiction are likely to remain part parcel new region. This paper argues need consider geography such borders, reveal asymmetries which could weaken opportunities for collaboration. Following relational geography, we argue that municipalities don’t necessarily share same border; if understood a effect, border different roles each municipality. With this in mind, offer case study how Swedish is being negotiated within planning. The Kumla Hallsberg reveals one municipality active trying negotiate border, whereas other procrastinates around any action do not lie their interest. result haunted by decades poorly coordinated, even provocative, planning actions. Our opens up discussion on understanding (and history) well further studies interplay between renegotiation emerging regions.

Negotiating over ontological correspondences with asymmetric and incomplete knowledge

Effective communication is dependent on agents correctly interpreting the messages exchanged, based on the entities (or vocabulary) within the messages, and their ontological definitions. As agents are not guaranteed to share the same vocabulary, correspondences (i.e. mappings between corresponding entities in different ontologies) should be selected that provide a (logically) coherent alignmen...

Emerging Cubes: Borders, size estimations and lossless reductions

Discovering trend reversals between two data cubes provides users with a novel and interesting knowledge when the real world context fluctuates: What is new? Which trends appear or emerge? Which tendencies are immersing or disappear? With the concept of Emerging Cube, we capture such trend reversals by enforcing an emergence constraint. We resume the classical borders for the Emerging Cube and ...
