Neural circuit mapping of waiting impulsivity and proactive inhibition with convergent evidence from fMRI and TMS

چکیده
Introduction Waiting and stopping are essential distinct elements of appropriate behavioral control with its dysfunction implicated in various impulsivity related mental disorders. Although rodent human studies have investigated both phenomena, the role preparing to stop waiting has rarely been investigated. Furthermore, convergent evidence from multi-modal investigation tools remains a poorly utilized approach addressing such questions. Objectives Here, we conducted two separate, but hierarchical studies, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) map neural circuit involved proactive stopping, subsequently provide mechanistic causal disruption this by transcranial stimulation (TMS). In second study, based on our fMRI study data, attempted investigate possible causation between LIFG modulating LIFG, i.e. non-invasively producing “virtual lesion” an inhibitory (TMS) protocol called continuous theta burst Methods We recruited 41 healthy volunteers who performed adapted version (1CSRT) well-established 5 choice serial reaction time task capture impulsivity. developed novel measuring inhibition. scanned participants while completing these tasks. 15 صفحه اولResponse inhibition and impulsivity: an fMRI study.
Aggressive, suicidal and violent behaviour have been associated with impulsive personality and difficulty in inhibiting responses. We used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) of the whole brain to examine the neural correlates of response inhibition in 19 normal subjects as they performed a Go/NoGo task. Subjects completed Eysenck's Impulsivity Scale, Barratt's Impulsivity Scale (BIS) ...
متن کاملJumping the Gun: Mapping Neural Correlates of Waiting Impulsivity and Relevance Across Alcohol Misuse
BACKGROUND Why do we jump the gun or speak out of turn? Waiting impulsivity has a preclinical basis as a predictor for the development of addiction. Here, we mapped the intrinsic neural correlates of waiting and dissociated it from stopping, both fundamental mechanisms of behavioral control. METHODS We used a recently developed translational task to assess premature responding and assess resp...

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...
15 صفحه اولMapping the circuit of fear with pharmacogenetic silencing and fMRI
Introduction Recent advancements in mouse genetics have led to the development of methods to induce transient and cell-type-specific silencing of neuronal activity in vivo [1]. In combination with behavioural observations, this novel approach provides a powerful means to assess the functional contributions of these neurons to specific behaviours [2]. Here we demonstrate for the first time the c...
