New Generation Free-Space Optical Communication Systems With Advanced Optical Beam Stabilizer

In this paper, we introduce a novel concept and design of full-duplex all-optical FSO transceiver evaluate its transmission performance in 200 m outdoor environment. Our enables reliable fiber-to-fiber link with intelligent lens-based optical-beam-stabilization (OBS) by utilizing miniaturized cost-effective 3-axis voice-coil motors (VCMs) actuators. The VCM-based moving lens that is widely used smartphone cameras for auto-focus optical-image-stabilization customized optimized our designed to expand the transmitter receiver field-of-view, control both transmitted incident laser beam alignment, suppress effects random angle-of-arrival fluctuations induced atmospheric turbulence pointing errors maintain efficient direct coupling fiber core at receiver. Unlike 2-axis fast-steering-mirrors, use VCM lenses can not only but also collimation adjust difference between focal plane projection higher efficiency. Using developed transceivers, demonstrate an error-free standard signals 10 GbE LAN common public radio interface (LTE-CPRI) over links. We performed continuous 24-h evaluation clear weather day, occasional burst were recorded total BER 3 $\times 10^{-10}$ . obtained results potential proposed ensure high-capacity communication links facilitate adoption system as viable candidate address main requirements B5G/6G networks.
