Fast 2D-DCT implementations for VLIW processors
This paper analyzes various fast 2D-DCT algorithms regarding their suitability for VLIW processors. Operations for truncation or rounding which a re usually neglected in proposals for fast algorithms have also been taken into consideration. Loeffler's algorithm with parallel multiplications [l] was found to be most suitable due t o its parallel structure.
متن کاملRecursive Gaussian filters
Gaussian or Gaussian derivative filtering is in several ways optimal for applications requiring low-pass filters or running averages. For short filters with lengths of a dozen samples or so, direct convolution with a finite-length approximation to a Gaussian is the best implementation. However, for longer filters such as those used in computing running averages, recursive implementations may be...
متن کاملRecursive Digital Filters
1 Recursive Digital Filters A digital filter is the implementation of an algorithm that computes an output sequence of numbers from an input sequence of numbers. The algorithm may be implemented (or realized) using a general-purpose computer running software, a special-purpose computer such as a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) running software, or on special purpose hardware such as an Applicati...
متن کاملRecursive Gaussian derivative filters
We propose a new strategy to design recursive implementations of the Gaussian filter and Gaussian regularized derivative filters. Each recursive filter consists of a cascade of two stable Nth-order subsystems (causal and anti-causal). The computational complexity is 2N multiplications per pixel per dimension independent of the size (σ) of the Gaussian kernel. The filter coefficients have a clos...
