Noise Spectrum as a Source of Information in Gas Sensors Based on Liquid-Phase Exfoliated Graphene

Surfaces of adsorption-based gas sensors are often heterogeneous, with adsorption sites that differ in their affinities for particle binding. Knowing adsorption/desorption energies, surface densities and the relative abundance different types is important, because these parameters impact sensor sensitivity selectivity, relevant revealing response-generating mechanisms. We show analysis noise can be used to study on heterogeneous sensing surfaces, which applicable industrially important liquid-phase exfoliated (LPE) graphene. Our results CO2 an LPE graphene surface, flake edges basal planes, spectrum data characterize such surfaces terms determine properties adsorbing material. Notably, characteristic frequencies unambiguous indicator densities. also demonstrate features indicate fraction binding already occupied by another species. The presented applied design production other optimal performance.
