Non-institutionalized frail elderly: are there any medications associated with falls? A case-control study.

Objetivo: Analisar a associação entre queda e o uso de medicamentos em idosos frágeis não institucionalizados.Materiais Métodos: Trata-se um estudo caso-controle realizado com usuários da Atenção Básica do Sistema Único Saúde (SUS) na cidade Divinópolis, interior Minas Gerais, Brasil. Os casos eram autorreferida no último ano os controles sem relato queda, pareados por sexo, idade centro saúde. A variável desfecho foi ocorrência ano. As variáveis exposição foram classe medicamentos, terapia medicamentosa combinada, início interrupção ajuste dose nos últimos 12 meses. magnitude das associações estimada Odds Ratio (OR).Resultados: Na análise univariada, antianêmicos, antiinfl amatórios, antiepilépticos suspensão iniciação medicação estiveram associados à queda. Após pelas demais covariáveis, houve signifi cativa quedas antianêmica (OR = 6,10; IC95% 1,72 - 21,58).Conclusão: institucionalizados esteve associada ao descrita outros estudos.
