Non‐Classical Conversion of Methanol to Formaldehyde

چکیده

Non-classical alternatives to the silver contact and Formox processes comprise thermal non-oxidative dehydrogenation of methanol, for which new catalysts are needed achieve high formaldehyde selectivity at conversion temperatures below 600 °C. The electro- or photocatalytic methanol is not applied either industrially but attractive because mild reaction conditions selectivities. Novel gas-phase approaches yielding (anhydrous) presented describing lab-scale setups challenges up-scaling.
