Nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete slabs through the finite element method

چکیده
One of the significant difficulties in representing behavior reinforced concrete structures mathematical models is post-cracking non-linearity. And so, slabs are no exception to rule. Still, usual analysis for this structural element verified elastic regime when tensile strength considered. This model acceptable service limit states but not ultimate state. These aspects associated with great difference subjected tension or compression make it necessary study a nonlinear that can represent slab bending, from beginning loading until its failure, as accurately possible. With this, ANSYS software, version 18, made available library Drucker-Prager-Rankine arranged two distinct rupture surfaces. A Drucker-Prager criterion and Rankine tension. In addition, software based on finite method, giving possibility precise through load deformation increments, taking into account both plastic deformations after cracking. Thus, work aims present modeling surface, validating by comparing several experimental tests. The results were coherent acceptable, presenting good approximation

متن کاملNonlinear finite element analyses of FRP-strengthened reinforced concrete slabs using a new layered composite plate element
A new layered 4-node, 24-degrees of freedom rectangular composite plate element is developed in this paper for nonlinear finite element analyses of FRP-strengthened RC slabs. The layered approach is used to form an integrated plate element for modelling of concrete, FRP, adhesive layer and steel reinforcement with a perfect bond assumption between each layer. Timoshenko’s composite beam functio...
متن کاملFinite Element Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Column Under Lateral Load
To serve its purpose a structure must be safe against collapse and serviceable in use. Serviceability requires that deflections be adequately small to keep the cracks within tolerable limits. Although the widely followed ACI Code suggests a detailed method of deflection calculation, it often cannot exactly perceive the actual behavior of a structure. For this purpose, finite element analysis, u...
متن کاملFinite Element Analysis of Bond for Reinforced Concrete Structures
A high-resolution finite element model is developed using the MSC.Marc software package to investigate local bond behavior and the modeling of this behavior. In the model, interaction between concrete and steel is treated geometrically as contact between two separate bodies. Concrete is modeled as a homogenous material. A multiple, fixed, smeared crack model is used to simulate response in tens...
متن کاملThree-dimensional Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements
Continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP) performance depends primarily on early-age cracks that result from changes in temperature and drying shrinkage. This report presents the findings of a study of the early-age behavior of CRCP in response to temperature change using a three-dimensional finite element model. The nonlinear effects of the bond slip between concrete and steel and betwe...
